Tresorit
Tresorit combines encrypted file storage, secure data rooms, and eSignatures in a single platform, eliminating the need for agencies to juggle separate vendors for collaboration, signing, and compliance. The platform enforces end-to-end encryption across all data, supports multiple data residency options, and integrates natively with Microsoft (Azure AD, Okta provisioning) and Gmail, reducing manual account setup. Tresorit Engage allows unlimited data rooms and role-based access (managers, contributors, unlimited viewers), scaling collaboration without per-user seat costs for read-only participants. The service targets regulated verticals: finance, legal, healthcare, and IT services agencies that need GDPR and HIPAA compliance, granular access controls, and audit trails for client-sensitive work.
Tresorit is a security tool, priced at $4.75/month on the Personal Personal Lite plan, integrating with Microsoft, Gmail, Azure AD, and Okta. InnovaAI scores it 8.5/10 for agency resale, fit for agencies with established service brands.

Bottom Line
Tresorit bundles end-to-end encrypted file storage, secure data rooms (Tresorit Engage), and eSignatures into a single platform with integrations for Microsoft, Gmail, Azure AD, and Okta. It targets regulated verticals: finance, legal, healthcare, and IT services agencies that need GDPR and HIPAA-compliant collaboration. Reality Check
Tresorit's business plans require custom quotes with no published per-user pricing, making it difficult to forecast client MRR or margin predictability. The platform does not publish a clear white-label or agency partner program, so you cannot reliably offer a fully branded experience to end clients.

Why this category matters
The commercial case before the tooling.
Core concepts
The mental model you need to price and scope the work.
- Liability CeilingConcept
Liability Ceiling is the maximum exposure an agency accepts when it sells security as an outcome rather than as a process. Every retainer that promises "we will keep you secure" converts an evolving attack surface into a contractual obligation the agency cannot fully control. The framework asks one question before signing: what is the worst-case dollar figure if this control fails, and who pays it? Agencies that sell detection, monitoring, and documented response steps cap their exposure at labor and tooling cost. Agencies that sell guarantees inherit the breach. A documented case from September 2026 shows a vibe-coded client app with exposed API keys generating a $4,000+ unauthorized usage bill, small enough to absorb but proof that the failure mode is financial, not theoretical. Set the ceiling in the statement of work: name the controls in scope, the review cadence, and the response time, then price the retainer against that scope instead of against an outcome you cannot underwrite.
- Blast Radius BudgetConcept
Blast Radius Budget treats every automated workflow as a spend of trust: the more autonomy an agent gets, the smaller the radius of damage it must be able to cause before a human checkpoint fires. Agencies scope security not by counting tools but by mapping what each automation can touch (client CRM records, ad accounts, production repos, payment keys) and capping the worst-case outcome. A workflow that drafts copy can run unattended; one that sends client-facing email or rotates credentials cannot. The budget is set per client, per retainer tier, and reviewed when scope expands. The failure mode is real: exposed API keys in AI-built client apps have produced bills above $4,000 from unauthorized calls, a cost that lands on the agency's invoice and reputation, not the model vendor's. Pair the budget with runtime controls such as Vaultak's action interception or Cogent's attack-path mapping so the cap is enforced, not just documented.
- Trust Premium DecayConcept
Trust Premium Decay treats every security promise an agency makes as a depreciating asset rather than a fixed credential. A SOC 2 badge, an encrypted client portal, or a clean scan earns trust at signature, then loses value as attack surfaces change and the evidence behind the claim ages. Agencies that re-verify on a cadence keep the premium; those that coast on a one-time audit watch it erode quietly until an incident reprices the whole retainer. The framework forces a simple question at renewal: what did we prove this quarter, and when? A concrete example sits in the $4,000+ API bills traced to exposed keys in AI-built client apps, where a single leaked credential converts a trust asset into a liability line item overnight. Pairing periodic re-verification with incident response keeps the premium compounding instead of decaying.
Decision and risk
How to judge the fit, and the ways it goes wrong.
- Security Tools Rule: Price the Liability Before You Price the RetainerEvaluation Rule
Split every security engagement into a fixed-fee detection and hardening deliverable plus a separately contracted advisory layer, and never let a retainer contract contain the words guaranteed, secure, or protected without a written scope boundary.
- When Client Workflows Run Autonomous Agents, Gate the Actions Before You Sell the RetainerEvaluation Rule
Buy the enforcement layer first and the detection layer second, because a tool that can block or reverse an agent action is worth more to a retainer than one that only files a finding.
- Security Tools Decision: Proactive Threat Modeling Retainer vs Reactive Incident ResponseDecision Framework
IF your agency already holds recurring access to client infrastructure, repositories, or marketing data pipelines, THEN sell a proactive threat-modeling retainer that bundles vulnerability scanning, secret hygiene, and access review into the existing monthly scope. IF clients only call after a breach, a leaked key, or a compliance questionnaire lands, THEN keep security as a reactive, project-priced incident response engagement and avoid promising continuous coverage you cannot staff.

What agencies say about Tresorit
“After years of using Sync.com, we're very pleased.”
After years of using Sync.com for our business, we finally made the switch to Tresorit, and I only wish we had done it sooner. We manage a team of five people, and our experience with Sync.com was plagued by constant syncing issues, delays, and reliability problems. File synchronization often felt unpredictable, and it became a recurring source of frustration for our team. Since moving to Tresorit, the difference has been night and day. It simply works. Files sync quickly and reliably across all devices, collaboration is seamless, and we haven't experienced a single issue since making the transition. The platform feels polished, professional, and dependable—exactly what a business needs from a cloud storage provider. If you're currently struggling with Sync.com or another file-sharing platform, I can confidently recommend giving Tresorit a serious look. For our team, it has been one of the best software decisions we've made.
Read on Trustpilot“Maybe not for photographers?”
Not Great. My clients had terrible difficulty downloading images so I had to create more and more links with smaller and smaller files. Then, I got a notification from a client, not from Tresorit, that I had reached my sharing limit?? I was no where near capacity on the service that I paid for ( 1 yr in advance ). Only then did I discover that I was only allowed a certain number of links. I found the upload speed to be slow btw. My client, therefore could not download the files that they needed. Tresorit came back with - I could wait until the following month for my client to download or I could upgrade to get some more links. This was really unfair, because I was totaly unaware of the link limit, and I was only over the link limit because of the problems I was having. Tresorit CS is clunky. So with 11 months to go I asked for them to close my account and give me a refund thankfully this they have now done. It may be that Tresorit are good for certain businesses, but I think that the issue may have been that my image files are quite large.
Read on Trustpilot“About two months ago we replaced…”
About two months ago we replaced Sync.com with Tresorit, and it honestly feels like we finally got our business back. Tresorit clearly prioritizes security architecture, reliability, and professional-grade workflows. Once you spend a little time understanding the logic behind how their system operates, the design choices start to make sense and you realize they’re following what most security professionals would consider best practice. Their zero-knowledge encryption model means the provider cannot read your files, which is exactly what you want when you're responsible for confidential client documents. At the same time, the platform is stable and syncing behaves consistently and predictably, which was a constant struggle for us previously. It’s rare to find a system that both raises the security standard and improves day-to-day usability, but that’s exactly what we experienced after switching. For any business handling sensitive information, Tresorit has proven to be a serious upgrade.

Answers about pricing, setup, implementation
Tresorit is an end-to-end encrypted cloud storage and collaboration platform that combines secure file sharing, encrypted data rooms (Tresorit Engage), and digital signatures (eSign add-on). It integrates with Microsoft, Gmail, Azure AD, and Okta, allowing agencies to store, share, and sign documents with granular access control and the ability to revoke permissions anytime. The platform is designed for regulated industries: finance, legal, healthcare, and IT services.
Tresorit offers 12 pricing tiers, starting at $4.75/mo billed annually (Personal Personal Lite) up to $27.49/mo billed annually (Personal Personal Pro). Agencies typically achieve 73% profit margins when reselling to clients.
No verified white-label program is documented in Tresorit's public materials. Business plans mention custom branding and personalized onboarding, but client-facing surfaces display the Tresorit brand. If white-labeling is a requirement, contact Tresorit sales to confirm whether custom branding options exist under enterprise agreements.
Yes. Tresorit has native integrations with Microsoft (Outlook, Azure AD, and Okta provisioning on Business Pro plans) and Gmail. These integrations allow agencies to encrypt email attachments and automate user provisioning without manual account creation, reducing onboarding overhead for clients already on Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
Setup time depends on the plan tier. Personal plans can be activated in minutes. Business plans include onboarding and training as part of the service, though Tresorit does not publish a specific setup timeline. Agencies using Azure AD or Okta provisioning can automate user creation, reducing manual work. Contact Tresorit for a setup estimate based on your client count and integration method.
Tresorit is purpose-built for finance agencies, legal agencies, healthcare agencies, and IT services agencies. These verticals require GDPR and HIPAA compliance, granular access controls, and audit trails. Clients in these sectors handling sensitive documents, client data, or intellectual property benefit most from Tresorit's encryption and data residency controls.
Personal Lite ($4.75/month annually) is the lowest-cost entry point with 50 GB encrypted storage. Tresorit also offers unlimited free-trial data rooms on Business Professional plans, allowing agencies to test Tresorit Engage before committing to a paid contract. Contact sales for a full product demo.
Tresorit's terms of service govern data retention and deletion upon cancellation. Agencies should confirm the data deletion timeline and any export options with Tresorit before signing client contracts. This is critical for regulated clients who may have data retention obligations under HIPAA, GDPR, or industry-specific rules.
