pCloud
pCloud offers cloud storage sold as lifetime licenses rather than recurring subscriptions, with individual plans covering 500 GB, 2 TB, and 10 TB of capacity. Files are encrypted using 256-bit AES at rest and TLS/SSL in transit, stored in certified data centers governed by Swiss privacy law. Core functions include automatic backup from devices and third-party sources, cross-device sync with offline access, password-protected and branded file sharing, collaborative folder requests, 30-day version history, and built-in streaming for audio and video files. A reseller program exists for agencies to provision storage for clients. The platform targets photographers, small business owners, travelers, and IT managers who prioritize data security and want to avoid ongoing SaaS subscription fees.
pCloud is a document management platform. InnovaAI scores it 6.3/10 for agency resale, fit for agencies with established service brands.
Agency Audit
pCloud offers lifetime cloud storage licenses (500 GB to 10 TB) with 256-bit AES encryption and Swiss data residency, positioning it as a resellable storage solution for agencies serving photographers, travelers, small business owners, and IT managers. The one-time purchase model (Premium 500 GB at $199, Premium Plus 2 TB at $399, Ultra 10 TB at $1,190) eliminates recurring billing friction but requires agencies to manage client licensing separately rather than through a unified reseller dashboard. Agencies can resell pCloud storage, but the lack of a documented white-label program means client-facing interfaces display pCloud branding, limiting positioning as a proprietary agency service.

Platform Features
Core capabilities of pCloud
Lifetime Storage Licensing
Clients pay once for storage capacity rather than monthly, with plans at $199 for 500 GB, $399 for 2 TB, and $1,190 for 10 TB. This eliminates subscription churn risk and gives agencies a straightforward one-time upsell.
256-bit AES Encryption with Swiss Jurisdiction
Files are encrypted at rest using 256-bit AES and transmitted over TLS/SSL, with data stored in certified centers governed by Swiss privacy law. This is a concrete compliance talking point for clients in regulated or privacy-sensitive industries.
Password-Protected File Sharing
Agencies can share files and folders via links that require a password, reducing the risk of unauthorized access to client deliverables. Branded share pages add a light white-label layer to the handoff experience.
Automatic Device and Third-Party Backup
pCloud backs up phone galleries, desktop folders, and files from third-party sources automatically, without manual uploads. For agencies managing client asset libraries, this reduces the operational overhead of keeping storage current.
30-Day File Version History
Previous versions of any file can be restored, and deleted files can be recovered up to 30 days after removal. This provides a basic safety net for client projects where accidental overwrites are a common support request.
Built-in Media Streaming
Music and video files stored in pCloud can be streamed directly through the platform's built-in player without downloading. Photographers and media clients can preview and share assets without exporting to a separate hosting service.

Bottom Line
pCloud offers lifetime cloud storage licenses (500 GB to 10 TB) with 256-bit AES encryption and Swiss data residency, positioning it as a resellable storage solution for agencies serving photographers, travelers, small business owners, and IT managers.
Reality Check
pCloud does not publish a white-label or agency reseller program with custom branding, so clients see the pCloud brand in their interface rather than your agency's. One-time lifetime pricing removes MRR potential, making this a one-off product sale rather than a recurring retainer revenue stream.

Why this category matters
The commercial case before the tooling.
Core concepts
The mental model you need to price and scope the work.
- Signature Custody SplitConcept
Signature Custody Split separates two decisions agencies usually bundle: where signed documents live, and which engine captures the signature. Bundling them feels efficient, but it hands one vendor control of both the signing event and the archive, so migrating later means re-papering client history. Splitting custody keeps the signed PDF in storage the agency controls while the signing engine stays replaceable. Dropbox Sign illustrates the bundled path: agreements save automatically into Dropbox storage, convenient until a client asks for a different archive. DocuSeal illustrates the split path, since it can run on-premises with signing embedded into an agency's own application. Xodo Sign sits between them with audit trails and an embedding API but no white-label option. For agencies on retainer, the split matters at renewal: a client leaving should trigger an archive export, not a re-signing project. Audit where executed contracts physically rest before renewing any eSignature contract.
- Custody vs Convenience TradeConcept
Custody vs Convenience Trade frames document management as a two-axis decision: how much control an agency keeps over client files and signature records, against how much setup and maintenance it absorbs. Self-hosted or API-first tools push control up and setup cost up with it; hosted platforms invert that. The framework matters because agencies sign multi-year client retainers on document infrastructure they rarely re-evaluate, so a convenience choice made during a busy onboarding month becomes a permanent dependency. A concrete case: DocuSeal offers on-premises deployment and embedded signing, which suits agencies handling regulated client data but requires infrastructure ownership, while Xodo Sign (formerly eversign) delivers audit trails and an embedded signing API with no server to run. Neither is wrong; the error is choosing convenience without pricing the exit, or choosing custody without staffing it.
- Retention Gravity IndexConcept
Retention Gravity Index measures how much a client's document history, signed contracts, and shared folders pull against any future platform switch. The heavier the archive, the more a tool choice becomes a multi-year commitment rather than a monthly line item. Agencies feel this most at offboarding: a client with three years of signed statements of work inside one vendor's audit trail is far harder to move than one whose contracts live as PDFs in a neutral folder. The index rises with file volume, signature history, permission graphs, and integration depth. A practical counterweight is keeping the canonical copy in a storage layer that any editor or signer can reach, then treating the signing tool as a temporary execution surface. Dropbox Sign and DocHub both illustrate the split: signing happens in the tool, but the durable record can live in Dropbox or Google Drive, which keeps the switching cost from compounding with every renewal.
Decision and risk
How to judge the fit, and the ways it goes wrong.
- Document Management Rule: Match Signing Stack to Client Contract Volume, Not Team SizeEvaluation Rule
Pick the signing and storage stack by the volume and customization demands of your client contracts, then commit to it for at least a year before switching.
- When Client Contracts Carry Regulated Data, Verify Residency Before Signing Volume GrowsEvaluation Rule
Confirm data residency, encryption, and deletion controls in writing before you scale signing volume on any document platform.
- Document Management Decision: Self-Hosted Signing Stack vs Managed Platform RetainerDecision Framework
IF an agency's client contracts, onboarding packets, and compliance deliverables change frequently and the delivery team already runs its own infrastructure, THEN a self-hosted or API-first signing layer (DocuSeal, Dropbox Sign's white-label API) keeps per-envelope costs predictable and branding intact. IF the agency bills document turnaround as part of a retainer and has no engineer on staff, THEN a managed platform (Xodo Sign, DocHub, Box) removes maintenance overhead at the cost of per-seat pricing and vendor dependency.

Read on Trustpilot“It's slow to sync”
Update 3rd August 2026. Since posting my initial review I have solved the issue with files failing to upload to pcloud. I had recently changed broadband supplier and noticed that MTU was set to 'auto' in the router settings. This was amended to 'Manual' and the packet size changed from 1500 to 1280. Problem solved. It took me days of messing about to figure this out as there is no help anywhere. I've been using pCloud for 8 months now and I'm not wowed with the service. It's not the quickest to upload files and the sync function is slow. The look and feel are just passable, but not as nice as say Google Drive or Onedrive.

Answers about pricing, setup, implementation, and more
pCloud provides cloud storage with automatic backup from devices and third-party sources, cross-device file sync with offline access, and password-protected file sharing. It also includes a built-in music and video player for streaming stored media, 30-day file version history for recovery, and collaborative folder tools for gathering files from external contributors. Storage is protected by 256-bit AES encryption under Swiss privacy law.
pCloud offers 3 pricing tiers, starting at $199 one-time (Premium 500 GB) up to $1190 one-time (Ultra 10 TB). Agencies typically achieve 73% profit margins when reselling to clients.
pCloud references a reseller program that allows agencies to offer branded storage to clients, and the platform supports branded share pages for file handoffs. However, the depth of white-labeling, such as custom domain support or full removal of pCloud branding from the client interface, is not fully detailed in available documentation. Agencies should confirm the exact scope of branding controls directly with pCloud before committing client-facing workflows to the platform.
pCloud does not list native integrations with common agency tools such as HubSpot, Slack, Asana, or Adobe Creative Cloud in its published feature set. It supports third-party source backup, which suggests some external connectivity, but the specific platforms and integration depth are not documented. Agencies relying on a connected SaaS stack should verify API or Zapier availability directly with pCloud before building client workflows around it.
pCloud does not publish a specific onboarding time estimate. Based on the platform's structure, provisioning a new client account, configuring backup sources, and setting up shared folders would likely take 20 to 40 minutes per client once the agency's reseller account is established. The absence of a documented multi-tenant dashboard means each client account may need to be configured individually.
pCloud is best suited for photographers who need large, encrypted media libraries with streaming and sharing capabilities; small business owners who want file backup and sync without ongoing subscription costs; IT managers overseeing device backup and data recovery for small teams; and travelers or field-based professionals who need offline file access across multiple devices.
Because pCloud sells lifetime licenses rather than subscriptions, there is no cancellation-triggered data loss for clients who have purchased a plan outright. However, pCloud does not publish explicit data portability or export SLA documentation, so agencies should confirm the process for bulk data export before onboarding clients with large or compliance-sensitive file libraries.
pCloud provides a help center and contact form for support inquiries, but does not publish dedicated SLA tiers or priority support channels for reseller or business accounts in its individual plan documentation. Agencies managing multiple client accounts should review the Business plan offering separately, as support terms may differ from individual lifetime plans.
