Running Foremerge as a service, AI Agents
Foremerge Agency Implementation, Multi-Agent Coordination at Scale
Learn how to deploy Foremerge across your AI coding fleet to prevent silent merge conflicts before code is written. This course teaches agencies how to structure agent workflows, configure semantic scope claiming, interpret conflict findings, and deliver coordinated multi-agent projects to clients without rework.

Is Foremerge worth running as a client service?
Foremerge addresses a real coordination gap for agencies running parallel AI coding agents, with deterministic, explainable conflict findings delivered through CLI, eighteen MCP tools, and a loopback JSON API at low setup complexity and hours to value. What remains unknown is the client-side fee, labor, usage, and overhead required to model ROI, and the vendor has not published coordinated-versus-uncoordinated benchmark results to support performance claims.
An agency-fit judgement for reselling this service. It is separate from the tool description on the decision record.
Before you start
What has to be in place before the first client engagement.
Tools and subscriptions
- Foremerge checksum-verified binary for macOS and Linux, or install from crates.io with Rust
- Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor client set up as the MCP-capable client
- Git repository with linked worktrees sharing a Git common directory
- Registered verification check commands such as 'cargo test --all-targets'
- Optional HTTP-based harness if the agent prefers the authenticated loopback JSON API over stdio
- GitHub access for the client's repository workflows
People and inputs
- Engineer familiar with Foremerge's twelve semantic scope kinds (symbol, api, schema, migration, contract, env)
- Reference to the eighteen MCP tools exposed over stdio, including how coordination state, leases, and ChangeSets are exposed
- Short onboarding window consistent with 'low' setup complexity and 'hours' time-to-value
- Access to the repository's Git common directory to verify the shared SQLite coordination store
